Being two means lots of new things....

This weekend was quite an adventure in the Mitchler household as we discovered our little one has monkey like abilities and can now swing his leg over and be hanging off the side of his crib, ready to take the plunge into the floor. As soon as Jer and I discovered these abilities we started talking about when to make the move into a toddler bed. We quickly realized it would be sooner rather than later, as nap and bed time were difficult because the big boy would just attempt to climb out of be if he didnt want to be in it. Sunday afternoon we made the big change and took the front off the crib and Max now has a big boy bed. Night 1 went amazing. Due to not having a nap that day, he fell asleep in the high chair at dinner and we gently placed him in the big boy bed, and he slept all night, greeting me the next morning from my bedside :)Night two was a completely different story with 45 plus minutes of hysterical crying and not laying in the bed, and me on the verge of a breakdown. Night three was a little less crying, but I had to sit in the floor until he was asleep, night four, no crying, but still sat bedside until he was asleep. I am so relieved that each night seems to be getting a little easier. I am also really glad that we are doing this now, instead of once baby two comes. I know we are just need to give our little buddy some time to adjust to the new bed. Here is a picture of the new set-up!




The weather has finally been warming up, which means lots of fun outdoor adventures. Max is the best helper with any task that anyone could ask for. He worked very hard helping Daddy move pine straw, and what a good job he did!



I know that Max's 2nd year is going to bring many exciting adventures! We are so blessed by our little one!
